SubZeroArts returns to Nuit Blanche Ottawa-Gatineau with the debut of “MNML”, a visual poem blending oblique imagery and other-worldly soundscapes designed to lead viewers through a unique terrain and inspire the imagination.
“Founded in 2009 SubZeroArts is a group of visualists, sound artists, technologists, fabricators, and software engineers working in contemporary art and science. Their work is informed by technology, optical interaction, acoustic imaging and other disciplines combined to develop unique interactive installations where participants contribute to their own artistic experiences.
Since their inception, SubZeroArts have designed and produced several installations that bridge science and art, enabling participation and stimulating thought about how individuals interact with their surroundings. Recent works include Pillars of Light (Nuit Blanche, Ottawa, 2013), IceDrops (Ottawa Winterlude, Ottawa, 2013), The Sound is Watching You (NAISA Space, Toronto, 2013), LightSoundPlay (Nuit Blanche, Ottawa, 2012), and DarkLab (Come Up To My Room, Toronto, 2012).”
