The Ottawa International Film Festival will be screening CRY BABIES a controversial film by Artist Jonathan Hobin on the provincial court wall by the Mayor’s courtyard entrance to City Hall.

CRY BABIES is statement about the bluff of candy-coated images of childhood. CRY BABIES will make you question the idea that childhood is only sugar and spice and everything nice is to engage in an adult game of make-believe.

Jonathan Hobin is an award-winning and internationally noted photo-based artist and art director. Hobin’s work draws on iconic literary, cinematic and historical references and popular culture to explore the darker – or at the very least, the more troubling-aspects of childhood, imagination and storytelling.
