Il était une fois is a musical show that sets legends to music and allows you to bypass death to approach those who have lived in the past. Let yourself be swayed by tales of love, fear and folly and relive for a moment the lives of ordinary people who have long been dead.

Late blooming artists Céline Solmini and Jean-Maurice Rioux decided one morning to lay on paper an idea that had long been sprouting in their heads.

Céline writes and Jean-Maurice composes. They are Jean & Marguerite: the duet.

They decided to give it a shot, so they put the words to music. The stories streamed out as if they had been waiting to be told, so long had they been kept inside.

Jean-Maurice’s music melds with the words and takes over when the emotion is too strong.

As members of a group of storytellers, they take part in storytelling contests. The duet brought home the third prize on their first attempt in Victoriaville.

They present the result of their work live on stage for local events and during festivals. The public is intrigued and wants to hear more. Their first review stated that their performance was too short!
