BTW takes place on each side of the corner of a building. Two artists spell out messages to each other using an electrical circuit that conducts information through their joined hands. Spectators can watch and decipher the messages in real time.

Jacquie Kolodiejchuk (MA, BFA, BEd) is an Ottawa-based artist and educator. Her work has focused on painting and printmaking, primarily with abstract and realist depictions of staircases and ladders to speak about different pathways, stages, and connections within our bodies and our experiences. After having also worked with such diverse materials as latex, found objects, and embroidery, BTW is her first performance-installation. Andrew Cooper is a Manufacturing Technician in the field of electrical engineering, pursuing many projects in leather working, sewing, knitting, and woodworking. New to the art world, he lends his technical expertise in electricity and experience in technology to the artwork. Together, these two newlyweds challenge each other to explore diverse media while addressing issues of intimacy, connectivity, and communication, balancing the old with the new.
