gravity is an interactive performance that invites the public to enact the “law of attraction” that rules our universe. Audience members are encouraged to participate using there mobile device to guide them through the dance floor.
I have a great interest in dimensionality, representation, time, and the engagement that the viewer may have with two- and three-dimensional works. I like to explore the relationship between objects and representation through dimensional transformation: what is gained and lost when executing transformations between dimensional spaces. These interests are reflected in works that attempt to explore the borders between different media.
In gravity: the space between us I collaborate with engineer Michael Rockwood and video producer Helena Escallón to create an interactive performance that invites the public to enact the “law of attraction” that rules our universe. The intention is to provide an alternate route to look at our own presence and our interaction with others. It is about bypassing the societal norms of human interaction and engaging solely as bodies in space.
