4th Year BFA Students of the University of Ottawa, Spectra – Exhibition of the 4th Year BFA Students, Routhier Community Centre, 172 Guigues, ByWard Zone

Spectra – showcasing the range of works and diverse creativity of the 4th year students of OttawaU’s BFA Program.

Stars are classified by their spectra – the elements that they absorb. And each star fits into a separate spectral class, depending on the variety of elements that come into their path. Much in the same way, the student artists of the University of Ottawa’s Bachelor of Fine Arts Program have all come into contact with similar types of information in order to develop their practices as artists. Despite being a tightly knit group, each individual has developed talents and aesthetic choices that are unique to their respective mediums, while also being a reflection of the artistic elements we absorb and learn as a unit. Spectra, the exhibition, is an attempt to show how something that started small can expand beyond its initial means, and the range of elements that has allowed the talent and ability that is present within this group of artists to shine.
